MUSEUM OF MENSTRUATION AND WOMEN'S HEALTH
Leaflet: . . . .
because (Personal Products Company, 1967) for
Modess menstrual pads for mothers in hospitals right after childbirth,
women, and teenage girls
This leaflet, one of many Modess made to promote its products, connects
to the decades-long Modess . . . . because ad campaign
through its title but lacks the snazzy fashions of the magazine ads. Customers
probably found them in the boxes of pads or near the Modess displays in
stores.
I thank the former Tambrands, which made Tampax
tampons, for donating this leaflet!

Below: Since I broke the larger version
of the leaflet in half (bottom), right below you can
see both sides of the whole 6 panels in a smaller version.
Each panel measures 2 3/4 x 4 1/4" (about 7.8 x 11.5 cm).
The far-right panel is the top page.

Below: The middle panel mentions the booklets
How Shall I Tell My Daughter? and Growing
up and liking it.
Among Modess's other offerings were "Educational
Portfolio on Menstrual Hygiene" (1968), a
teacher's kit for
Modess sanitary napkins,
menstrual tampons and panties (mostly complete); and an earlier (1950s)
complete kit from Modess. The company also tied
a sanitary napkin belt into the because
campaign.
